This is the last installment of the most unique bars in Asia series. In this final addition we will explore some bars or clubs we have happened to look over in the past. However, don’t let this make you think that these places are any less crazy or fun. If you haven’t seen part 1 or part 2 yet, please check it out here: Unique Bars in Asia (Part 1) and Unique Bars in Asia (part 2). Just like last week, we’ll jump from one country to the other to discover the most unique bars in Asia. First on the list is…

Kagaya Tokyo

Kagaya might take the cake as the weirdest bar in Japan, and that is saying a lot! The host of this bar, a frog costume wearing joker, will make sure to keep your cup filled, your belly full and to make your night out an unforgettable one. The outside of the venue doesn’t give away much of the weirdness that will happen inside, except for a big sign with a frog which says, “Frog is stranger than fiction”. Then, when you enter it really starts to kick off. You’re welcomed by the host of the bar who’ll hand you a handmade crayon menu card. When you order a drink, it will be delivered by a small teddy bear, then later that same teddy bear will hit you on the head with a plush hammer… don’t ask why.

To summarize, who’s this bar for? This bar is for people that want to laugh about the weirdest and dumbest humor imaginable. The food and drinks this bar serves aren’t its selling points, the real reason someone should visit Kagaya is for the endless fun of little games the host will play, the countless immature jokes and just generally a great atmosphere.

We recommend people to try this place at least once at the beginning of a night out. Together with a group of friends it’s the most fun. At Kagaya you’ll most likely meet likeminded people that might join your group to continue your night out in Tokyo.

Pretty Poison Bali

Pool bars are fairly common in Bali, but this one is definitely unique, because it’s not a normal swimming pool, it’s a rad skateboarding bowl. This spot combines the up and coming skate culture of Indonesia with delicious cocktails and bar food. If you’re a skateboarder definitely check this spot out, it’s a must visit. If you’re not skateboarder (yet) check it out too! It’s amazing to have a drink and see what kinds of crazy tricks the locals and other visitors can do in this empty swimming pool. Every night the skateboard scene floods to this bar to have a drink and pull some insane stunts, so you’ll never get bored. We recommend coming at night because that’s when the party really starts.

Blackstone Magic Bar Shanghai

Located in the legendary area of Found 158 in Shanghai, this magical cocktail bar is the perfect spot to start a night out. Named after the Legendary magician Harry Blackstone, this magic show does his name justice. The magicians at this spot know their craft and even before entering the venue you can see magicians practicing and perfecting their tricks in front of the big mirrored front of the bar. There are daily shows, and one session of cocktails and a performance, which lasts a while. Even better, the cocktails are priced fairly, especially when you take into account that the magic show is free!

When visiting this bar keep in mind that there might be a bit of a wait for a spot. However, since it’s located in Found 158 this is no problem at all; while waiting just try out a drink or snack at any of the other great bars in the venue.

Sunset Point Bali

One of the best things to do in Bali is catch the famous views of the beautiful sunset across the seemingly endless sea. And Sunset Point might be the best place to do so. This wonderful venue is located next to the sea and his very lightly decorated, which gives you the opportunity to focus your mind fully on the breathtaking sunset as you sip on a cocktail.

For the best view of the sunset and the sea crashing into the shore, take a beanbag seat close to the water or perhaps get a table on the balcony. We also advise ordering food here, it’s very cheap and really tasty! One last thing; don’t forget your camera as this is unique bar makes for a perfect photography spot.

Alice Seoul

Based on the Lewis Caroll novel Alice in Wonderland, this speakeasy bar will enchant you. When you first enter its doors, you’ll be greeted by a seemingly ordinary flower shop. Although, very beautiful with white walls decorated by many colorful flowers, it doesn’t look much like a bar. However, when you walk through the “flower shop” and find the door that leads to the actual door the real fun begins. Fall into the rabbit hole of speakeasy bars at Alice, were the great casual atmosphere and tasty drinks will make you feel like you’re inside a Lewis Caroll novel. The drinks are fairly pricey, but the wonderful venue and experience make it worth it. If you’re a fan of Alice in Wonderland, definitely check this place out.
